Partnership In Leadership
The Education Leadership committee has been focused on establishing relationships with the education community and has received
astounding feedback and support. Discussions about the needs of
education leaders led to the creation of a pilot program that pairs
principals with a committee member; the pilot program is called Partnership In Leadership.
Partnership in Leadership is designed to educate both the CEO and the school
principal. Each learns something about the other's responsibilities
and challenges, and hopefully have opportunities to improve processes.
The structure of the program is as follows:
- There are four (4) CEO/Principal pairs
- Each pair individually sets outcome goals
- The pairs work together for one year
- Each pair meets at least monthly (often this meeting
is one job-shadowing the other)
- The pairs all meet together quarterly to review,
discuss, and improve the process
- In June 2007 a comprehensive report will be given of
the successes and value of the program
Currently, the pilot program is being run with the Meridian school
district. The principals and CEOs involved in the first Partnership in
Leadership are very enthusiastic about the program and the value it has
already provided to their counterparts.
If you are a school board member or superintendent and your school district
would be interested in participating in Partnership In Leadership, please contact Marc Morris at MarcMorris@ibcee.org
