Current Idaho Test Reports Results

Idaho Reading Indicator (IRI)

This is a 10-minute assessment of early reading skills. All students in kindergarten, first grade, second, and thirdgrade are tested in the fall, winter, and spring. The most recent results are from Winter 2009 and show:

  • 78% of kindergartners at grade level
  • 83% of first graders at grade level
  • 67% of second graders at grade level
  • 72% of third graders at grade level

Idaho Direct Math Assessment (DMA)

Students in grades 4, 6, and 8 take this timed assessment in late November each year. The DMA is a performance assessment that requires students to show their work. The most recent results were released April 2009 and show:

  • 56% of 4th graders proficient and advanced
  • 46% of 6th graders proficient and advanced
  • 46% of 8th graders proficient and advanced

Idaho Direct Writing Assessment (DWA)

Students in grades 5, 7, and 9 take this timed assessment in late November each year. The DWA is a performance assessment that requires students to show their work. The most recent results were released April 2009 and show:

  • 70% of 5th graders proficient and advanced
  • 70% of 7th graders proficient and advanced
  • 73% of 9th graders proficient and advanced
